Over time, studies have shown that many pastors, ministers and ministry team members are understandably consumed with church-related work. They are struggling to balance the time spent in ministry and in their family life.
This common struggle often results in feelings of guilt and regret about not spending more time with their own family.
Another challenge for ministry caregivers is getting equipped with effective approaches to respond to people, particularly those who are in crises. They need the ability to understand different types of crises in addition to faith crises.
Ministers and team members are important and essential, but without access to strategies and information for effective service, they will not be able to sustain themselves while serving others.
They will be stretched thin such that they become physically exhausted, mentally overloaded and emotionally drained.
This leads to chronic fatigue, health issues, early burnout, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, premature or unstable leadership changes, and practices or decisions that cause them to leave the field of ministry.

Hello, my name is Rosalyn Bates.
As both clinical therapist and minister, I am passionate about bringing healing through written and verbal avenues. It is my belief that care for souls is a healing practice and an extension of pastoral care.
